A goodbye blues

                                        - A Wilma Fernández

I heard you sing goodbyes
blues notes in your mouth
void of pain and shadows
quiet you seemed to sleep
since I take you with me
that night I hugged you tight
you gave me your last kiss
I know that we're both happy
I knew you dead at night
